How We Are Paid

How We Are Paid

Liverpool Bingo Hub earns a commission when a reader follows a link from this site and deposits with an operator, and last year that commission was the whole of our income.

The short version

Liverpool Bingo Hub is a commercial website. We do not charge readers anything, we do not sell data and we do not run advertising from networks. We earn money in one way: when a reader clicks a link on this site, registers with an operator and makes a deposit, that operator pays us a commission. The links that do this are affiliate links, and every commercial link on this site is one of them.

There is a second part to the arrangement, and it is the part readers most often assume is hidden: the position of an offer on our comparison board is bought. Operators pay for their placement on the board. A higher position reflects a commercial agreement, not a verdict from us that the offer is superior to every offer below it. We would rather state that plainly than let anyone work it out from context, which is why this page exists.

What we do publish freely is the scoring method itself. Every scorecard row on the board, every editorial score out of 100 and every term chip is produced by a published, repeatable method that any reader can apply to any operator’s published terms and reproduce. The commercial arrangement determines who appears and where; the scoring method determines what the numbers on each card say. Keeping those two things separate and visible is the whole point of this page.

How the affiliate links work

Commercial calls to action on this site, including the ones labelled “View terms & start”, are cloaked affiliate links. A cloaked link routes through our own domain before forwarding to the operator. The routing does two things: it keeps the destination tidy for readers, and it lets us track that a registration came from this site so the operator knows to pay the commission.

The commission is earned on deposits. If a reader follows a link, opens an account and deposits, the operator pays us a fee, typically a share of the revenue generated by that player or a flat cost per acquisition. If a reader follows a link and does not deposit, we earn nothing. If a reader never clicks a link at all, we earn nothing either. There is no version of this site that gets paid for a click alone.

Two things follow from this and we want them on the record. First, the model does not require us to lie; an operator whose terms turn out to be poor earns us commission just as readily as one whose terms are generous, because the commission is paid on deposits either way. Second, the model does create an incentive to feature operators who pay, and we manage that incentive by publishing the scoring method rather than pretending the incentive does not exist.

The scoring method we publish

Every operator card on the board carries an editorial score out of 100. That score is calculated from operator-published terms using a fixed method: wagering multiples, conversion caps, bet ceilings, payment rails and withdrawal processing times are each taken from the operator’s own terms, converted into comparable figures, weighted and summed. The same calculation is applied to every operator regardless of who pays for placement. A reader with an operator’s terms page and our method notes can reproduce our numbers line by line.

Where an assumption is needed, we state it. Figures in our calculators and tables assume a forty-times wagering multiple where an operator’s terms are unclear, because that is a common ask across offers of this kind, and category-typical ranges are always labelled as such. We never present a modelled figure as a tested result. This site models and calculates; it does not play, and we hold no accounts and make no deposits with any operator.

What the paid-placement model means in practice is this: read the terms on the card, then read the operator’s own terms page, and treat the position on the board as what it is, a commercial arrangement. The score is our method applied to published terms. The placement is a purchase. We think a reader who knows both facts is better served than one who knows neither.

Questions and complaints

If something on this site looks wrong, a figure that does not match an operator’s terms, a description that reads as misleading, a link that does not go where it says, write to us and we will correct it. Corrections are made on the page, not quietly in a changelog. We would rather be corrected than confident and wrong.

Nothing on this site is gambling advice, and no offer on it is a recommendation to deposit. Gambling should be affordable entertainment, never a way to make money. If gambling has stopped feeling like entertainment, support is free and confidential: BeGambleAware offers information and self-help tools, and GamCare runs the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. GamStop, the national self-exclusion scheme, is free to register with and open to any player at GB-licensed sites. We would sooner lose the commission than keep a reader who needed one of those services.
